Lets also tack on the fact that Makuta normally has a backup plan for his backup plan for his backup plan for his backup plan for his backup plan.

Hell, the ONE time he was actually beaten was due to a massive perfect storm of everything BARELY going “just right ENOUGH” for the good guys, and even then, it took two planets smashing into eachother with him caught in the middle.

In a comparison situation of the season 3 opener, Makuta would normally have his soldiers assaulting the shield (be it possessed wild animals or even his own sons, the Rakshi) while at the same time, contacting and trying to convince folks INSIDE the shield to do something to let him in fully. Even at that, he’d most likely send in an avatar of himself and thus take no risk in being harmed, while doing what needed to be done.

I do think Sombra and Makuta share some tendencies, especially with the What If future with a legion of brainwashed, masked ponies, but Makuta is so much more powerful and resourceful that Sombra would THINK he’s won or that he’s in charge, but Makuta would be playing him for a pawn the whole time, only to be discarded when he outlives his usefulness.

Not a chance, Teridax himself is already the size of a 3 story building in his normal form and about the size of an entire contenent in Titan form. He has a Laundry list of powers, A legeion of B.A minions, he’s a manipulative master mind who has a backup plan for every situation, and most of all he’s a freakin’ GOD!

Though Teridax is nothing short of being a manipulative genius, he’s also not one to let his minions do all the work for him, and if he wanted Sombra out of the way quickly, he could easily confront and kill Sombra.
“Your shadow plays are impressive tyrant, but do not forget who the true master of shadows it”-Makuta Teridax

I imagine they’d never actually come face to face, just plan circles around each other until one of their plans worked.

Size-change is not gonna help Sombra at all. Teridax rules a universe where monsters the size of oil rigs are common.

Even though Sombra is the most badass villain made on FiM and the potential he has (that doesn’t mean the best), if he doesn’t have anything strong enough to pierce his armor (in Shadow Titan form) he is dead and Teridax wins.
