In that case, waiting until 40 to finally date may not be so bad after all. (I am nearly 33 as of this comment.) And in that case, if she is at least 21 (i.e., legally an adult in all respects), she is probably old enough for me, regardless of the age gap. (And probably far more independent than I was at that age, so there would probably be no functional difference.)
