An entry in Legends says some Dark Side acolytes did this after RotS, but the Maul clone was defeated by Vader, prompting Palpatine to execute the acolytes.
Well, I haven’t watched Rebels, so I can’t say anything about what was done with the old characters in that show. Pleased to hear that he’s still around, though.
Though I have to wonder why Vader didn’t slice and dice Maul.
Just in The Clone Wars? I was pleased to see him in Rebels, even though I’m surprised he survived what Palpatine did. I’d be surprised if he’s still around post-RotJ!
Lightsabers do cauterize wounds; though even so it seemed an awful stretch.
And yet in the end I was glad they did it. The show did some amazing stuff with Maul.

He was cut in two and sent down a shaft hardly anyone uses. I’m surprised they found him before he bled out.
