Description
April Dawn is going to war. She’s going to kill ponies for… for what? Glory? her nation? why is she killing? who is she killing for? Her mother didn’t raise a murderer- they owned a garden! But her sister, April Showers, has taken ill, and with the war going on, prices have run up and doctors have been drafted into the military. She needs to do this to get bits so they can get April seen by a doctor. Not to mention it would raise them out of poverty- maybe they could even afford an actual bed instead of sleeping on bales of hay every night! But Dawn… can she ever show her face to her family again after this? with blood on her hooves and ghosts clinging to her past? She shivers at the mere thought of how this will change her as she marches to war- to battle and bloodshed. But what other options are there? they can’t leave the country- they’ll definetely be caught by the perimeter guard. And if, by some miracle, they do make it out of the country, traveling during wartime is dangerous. Dawn may have basic training in combat, but she shutters to think of what would happen if they’re stopped by bandits. They have no problem killing ponies- even sick ones. Easy prey, probably. And finally, if they managed to not only make it out of the country and avoid bandits, the nearest neutral settlement is miles away, across untamed land and large open expanses. April may not even survive the journey in her state- they may not even make it to Gallipoli with as many members as thery started out with…
She can’t… She just can’t… What have ponies come too, to entertain the idea of war? They used to be a peaceful race. Where went the Harmony? The peace and love? She just… She has to risk it. It’s not worth her soul. She’ll talk to her commander tomorrow and- No, no that’ll never work, who’s she kidding? she’s just a random gardner, why should she be spared the horrors of war any more than any other pony? Oh, C’est la vie ~ What has the world come to?

_Although that’s not the point here…Wut?
Lol. There’s thousands of not tens of thousands of us bronies, and the vast majority of us have made our own ponies. Thankfully I haven’t ran into any characters looking like my precious Vida, but so far as Dawn goes, her color scheme is probably not uncommon.
