He was a chaos making dick in the episode we saw him in. In the times BEFORE then, he made hell on earth. Probably felt like a more cartoony version of the Shivering Isles.

With no context to his actions, it’s impossible to tell if he’s actually not that evil and just can’t relate to the emotions of others, or if he understands those emotions fully and lives to break them.

Given that he’s based on Q from TNG, I can understand where the OP is coming from. As I haven’t seen the previews (as I’ve said before: I find american advertising irritating), I have to wait and see if he’ll win SF Debris’ “coveted” Cosmic Faceplant award for villain decay

He was an okay villain, i much prefer Nightmare Moon or Chrysalis. But i’m still looking forward to the episode, not as much as “Sleepless in Ponyville”“Magic Duel” or “The Wonderbolt Academy” though.

I miss the show so much
Discord’s second “reign” lasted only for a day or two. Imagine it going on for decades or even centuries. We don’t know how bad the situation was when Celly & Luna finally stopped him. The chaos slowly turn ponies insane; nothing matters to them anymore, because normal life is impossible. He might not intentionally kill anyone (except maybe sometimes, just for lulz), but he doesn’t care much if they butcher each other.

Nah, if you saw the preview with him and Angel, you’d see that he’s still the same.
 
He might could stay the same without being all ‘Evulz’ all the time; just be a prankster like Pinkie Pie or something.
