Honestly, I agree with OP. I like gay relationships; I’ve been in them: 10/10 would recommend.
 
But I feel like it cheapens deep friendships to just make them into romances.
 
I was all for friendshipping Lyra and Bonbon because I thought that made their relationship so much more adorable. But then it became pretty obvious they’re not just best friends and I fully supported it.

This is a nice headcanon. RD would certainly be the first to come in to help out and be the one wmto stay to make sure that she would he okay.

Or, after Granny Smith’s passing, AJ was taking things real hard and out of a sense of loyaly, Dash decided to live with her a while, help out on the farm, spend time with her, take it off her mind. She just kept staying longer and longer though and after a while she just…never left. She’s basically become a part of the family now, but she’s still not very good at the chores.
 
Her and AJ aren’t a married couple, but their old rivalry has devolved into a form of bickering that sure makes them feel like one, to the point where ponies keep mistaking them for one, and they just laugh the idea off. Them? Together? Yeah, right.
 
Of course, it’s fine if you ship it. But I think above is a decent headcanon to explain their actions in a platonic sense if you really don’t like the ship.

RD’s house is made of water. She could get the materials in an afternoon for free. Besides, she has two jobs. Weather team leader and Wonderbolt. Probably gets combat pay too.

I’m the same. And it felt so out of left field. I just also wish those who likes the ship be kind in return and not bother us who dont see them together.

I don’t really like shipping the Mane 6 with each other either (though I do have an exception and fondness for Rarijack, especially in regards to their EQG counterparts). That being said, the scene is a ship tease. You can feel free to not see shipping out of it, just don’t try to bother people who like the ship.
