Background/Personality: “More beautiful than a cherry blossom and more deadly than a viper” is one of the main phrases used to describe the mysterious Lady Canna Thorn. A quiet mare who tends to keep to herself, not much is known about her. Other than she’s supposedly of some far east descent. Not many ponies know who she is, and most who do count among the trouble-making vagabonds on the streets who have had the misfortune of crossing her. All of which she’s dealt with in a very quick and physical manner, leading to something of a reputation as a very frightening mare.
 
Rumors about her abound from the terrifyingly fantastic to the improbably ridiculous. Some say she once cut a bolt of lightning in half before it hit the ground, or that one glare from her can send a hydra running for the hills. Some say she was once attacked by a group of a dozen yaks, and felled them faster than a drop of water falling from the edge of a roof to the ground. Others say that she’s actually a dragon hiding in a pony’s skin. Embellishments aside, one thing appears to be clear: Canna Thorn is not a pony to be trifled with.
 
Any stranger first meeting her however would scarcely believe her fearsome reputation. She’s soft spoken and polite, carrying herself with grace and humility. But there is an unmistakable air of strength to her, and she can be very intimidating should the situation call for it. She’s wise, compassionate, and able to read others easily. Her mannerisms show a pony who has been through and seen much in her time. She also has a very dry sense of humor.
 
Canna has a love for nature, and can usually be found in Manehatten Park when out in public. Also notable is her passion for helping young foals, often paying visits to the local orphanage in her spare time. Word on the street is she has some kind of school on Manehattan’s south side. Though almost nopony has ever had the stomach to go and see for themselves.
 
She is never without her signature oil-paper umbrella.
