Hey guys!!A LOOOONG time ago I tried my hand at making my own MLP: FiM character: shadobabe.deviantart.com/art/M… But this a BIG step up from then, imho. After tossing the attempt to make the drawings COMPLETELY show accurate, I found drawing this a lot easier. And I’ll be totally honest, I think she’s SOOOO CUTE!! <3

I’d like to give you guys a really detailed account of Fortune as a character, but it’s almost 5am, so I might be a little hazy.
I’ll probably just give you guys the basics. You’ll get more information on her in later pictures, so no worries. Plus a few details in her back story need work, so expect possible tweaking. And hey, if you have any questions, just ask.

Fortune (who now has a proper full name, Fortune Flair), is an Earth pony born to two unicorns of the Canterlot elite, but felt out of place and uncomfortable with her life there and ended up running away from home (more details to come). She came across the Golden Rings Carnival, and after wandering in got to know the people that traveled with and worked at the carnival and the circus within, particularly befriending the children of some of the performers.
Fortune fell in love with the place. She loved riding the rides with her new friends. She loved the smell of the popcorn and cotton candy. She felt comfortable with the people there, some of them misfits like her, and all of them friendly and accepting.

And she especially loved the circus trapeze. 83

Fortune’s talent is basically that she’s incredibly, ridiculously lucky. I like to think it’s sort of like how other Earth ponies sort of have their own hidden magic within themselves. Like how some have an affinity for making things grow, or like Pinkie Pie’s “Pinkie Sense”.
She discovered her cutie mark at the carnival, but exactly HOW she discovered it still has to be developed. But it led her to become a part of the Golden Rings family and she used her talent to become one of the brightest stars of the trapeze. Taking heart-pounding risks and always coming out smiling and waving has made her an undoubted crowd favorite.

She loves her life and her adopted family. And even a new carnival tradition sprung up around her; it’s now traditional to rub Fortune’s head before going out on stage. It’s said her good luck will rub off on you. Of course some of her pals take this as an opportunity to ambush her and noogie her furiously. XDDD

So here in the picture we have baby Fortune, filly Fortune, and current day Fortune, both in and out of her costume.
