8 years ago, I was introduced to My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. I have never been the same since. The friends I’ve made, the experiences I’ve had, the person I’ve become today has been inexplicably influenced by this show. It has encouraged me to be creative, to tap into my sensitive side, to be a better person, to live a better life, and to be a better friend. This show about small cartoon horses has had such an impact on me, it’s hard to even comprehend. It’s helped me overcome anxiety, gave me a sense of self-worth, gave me a community of love and support, and over the years, I’ve developed a passion for creating things that bring a smile to people’s faces. It’s all thanks to My Little Pony.
One of the first pieces of My Little Pony art I’ve ever made is
right here. 7 and a half years later, after finishing high school, college, changing jobs, moving 3 times, and going through the most difficult period of my life, here we are: the end of an era. I can’t express how thankful I am to have been a part of such a magical journey. How thankful I am to everyone who poured their heart and soul into this show. And how thankful I am to have grown so much as a person.
What a wonderful sendoff the finale has been. Even though this show is over, the ride doesn’t end. There is more to come. As long as there is a love for this show, the fandom will never die. I, for one, have no intention of going anywhere; I am proud to be a Brony.
