You’ll never guess what those half a dozen very hungry carnivores did to him in the end.
There’s a special place in hell for people who try feeding carnivorous/mostly-carnivorous pets a vegan diet. I mean it’s one thing to be vegan, as that’s a choice and we are capable(albeit with varying amounts of difficulty) of surviving without it. But forcing an animal such as a cat to eat only vegetables will slowly starve it to death

That and I’d gotten used to the show being really good at not falling into the usual carnivores are mean and arthropods gross routines with Fluttershy.
Bojack having sentient sea creatures is one of the reasons I love it so much.
It more has to do with a specific trope that writers tend to go with when land animals are sapient like people. Making the fish not as anthropomorphic makes it so carnivorous animals in fiction can eat meat without eating other sapient anthropomorphic animals in the cast.

That’s what happens when you don’t care.
That’s a somewhat reasonable in-universe possibility but it still sounds rather iffy. Meta-wise, I think the writers just assumed it was no big deal (which I guess in the grand scheme of things it isn’t but considering some people end up hurting their dogs and cats by giving them vegan diets…).

Yeah, that just kinda makes this look worse.
I blame overwork. When you sleep for two hours a night at best, forgetting how the food chain works is getting off lightly.
Animals are often staying in sanctuary because they’re ill, or been injured. Malnutrition won’t help them to heal.
It’s kinda dumb that this scene was in the episode, especially when she was perfectly okay with feeding the animals meat before.
