If these guys should be punished (and they should at least be in Tartarus), so should Discord. Yet the show treats him as if he were a victim.

The only hypocrisy I see is the fans going” they better not be redeemed” and then whining like karens when the villains got punished.

That’s precisely why I made this meme and why I sided with those three villains after the finale. I won’t stand for hypocrisy in Equestria.

Yes, those two were either bullies or misunderstood but others were mentioned beforehand. Thing is that wheather you like it or not, Starlight and Discord were given second chances, were given leeway when they messed up and were given proper help to get reformed and did reject their chances at first.
 
Discord was released to get reformed despite his power, he mocked the ponies for wanting to reform him. Despite all this, Fluttershy refused to give up on him and he was consistantly forgiven even after regressing multiple times. One could say that he got multiple second chances.
 
Starlight blew off Twilight after her first defeat and escaped. She spied on her for a while before coming back for revenge, during which Twilight repeatadly tried to get through to her. In a way, she practically forced Twilight to reform her. Then theres the time where she brainwashed her friends afterwards.
 
Tirek got no attempts made to rehabilitate him in the thousand years he was in Tartarus. His brother tried to convince him to stop without him having any experience of the friendship Scorpan had. Do you honestly believe that something similar would have worked on Discord? In that sense no attempt to reform him was ever made and he never got a second chance. Compare this to Discord, who again, was not given up on.  
Chrysalis was offered one outstretched hoof by the mare who was partially responsible for her losing everything, her changelings changed and turned against her. It was a very high emotion moment similar to what Starlight was experiencing at her first defeat. Despite all this, she almost took her hoof. No further attempts have made to help her see a better way. If only she had the means to force Twilight and co. to help her…  
Cozy’s time at school was in no ways a reformation program as her teachers didn’t know who she actually was. Learning words and history lessons wouldn’t have reformed Starlight, who was spying on Twilight for multiple episodes and literally watching friendship lessons unfold. After she was revealed no attempts to rehabilitate her have been made despite the fact that it would have been safer to do so then with Discord or Starlight since she’s just a normal pegasus filly. She literally got no second chances. As for her actions, they weren’t any worse then messing with time or plunging Equestria into the kind of chaos Discord did.
 
The way the cast treated the trio was utterly unfair and hypocritical.

Discord wasn’t any better. She used these three as tools for his scheme to better Twilight’s morale. Are you really going to excuse emotionally manipulating these three to their eventual deaths? Not to mention sending the mane six on a wild goose chase just he could cause a ruckus at the Friendship School.

Here’s a problem with that one’s a bully and the other is protecting ancient artifacts from being in the wrong hands something Daring Do never really took consideration and garble was a jerk but he had a soft side underneath it that he was embarrassed to show. Tirek had a chance to be redeemed but he decided not too long time ago when his brother decided to leave Equestria when he became friends with the ponies when he realize it was wrong to steal their magic. Chrysalis was also offered a second chance but she refuse to take the offer once when it was given. Cozy glow is another case she took the lessons about friendship another way that became quite manipulative and destructive using the concept of friendship as a sense of obtaining power over others which resulting in Equestria losing all its magic possibly leaving the ponies defenseless to other creatures and any other would be threats be honest with you that’s not someone I want to redeem. In starlight’s case personally I think she should never been redeemed she did too much damage to even consider redeemable her Redemption was forced I know she brings a certain Dynamic to the table that most of the ponies in Equestria don’t have but they should have went with someone that had more history with the Mane 6 like Trixie or Discord which of whom are better redeemable choices.

When empathy and reason fails, rainbow lasers. It’s how the show works. They could have been “cured”, reduced to infants or any number of things. This time it was stone. They could come back and be reformed later. It worked for Discord.

I agree with all of that. If they can reform monsters like Garble and Ahuizotl, then they can definitely reform these three.

This. The three were NEVER given ANY chances, especially not by the Elements. They established in Shadow Play that ponies can always be helped, even if they don’t look like they want it. The Elements are meant to represent harmony, forgiveness, and friendship - the ideals of ponies.

Yeah. It wasn’t like they showed signs of developing friendship between them and actually grew a bond together in Frenemies, and that had they been pushed in the right direction, could have embraced friendship fully- oh, wait….

Just because you’re kind doesn’t mean eveyone deserves it. They have to show that they’d be willing to, and these 3 have repeatedly shown to oppose it and wished to harm it instead. They were given chances but didn’t take them. This way if thinking is so fucking toxic that I honestly cant believe one would seriously think this.

Fair enough. I admittedly enjoyed To Where and Back Again and Flutter Brutter, at least. Season seven, I seemed to notice was when the series was starting to hit the wall. Except for The Perfect Pear, of course.

Even seasons six and beyond had some decent episodes. Just not as many ‘epic’ episodes.
