She’d been learning magic from Twilight for a long time now, and her adult body was more powerful. It still hurt & she didn’t land right (wound up in the hay bale), showing that it clearly isn’t easy.

How was SweetieBelle able to do a teleportation spell like that?!

Teleportation is SUPPOSED to be something a unicorn can’t easily do. Most unicorns are said to have just their telekinesis and a little bit of magic related to their cutie mark. Teleportation is a different beast altogether, it seems.

Besides the obvious fact that the spell caused Sweetie Belle pain, I noticed that her horn kept glowing and sparking after she cast it. Almost like most unicorns have natural limitations, but those limitations can be surpassed. Imagine a sort of dam in her horn keeping the magic from flowing out. In order to cast a spell that was, by all measures, above her level, Sweetie Belle had to break that dam, and this caused a sufficient amount of magic to burst out and even continue to leak out afterwards.

i dont think ive seen any other unicorn use teleport outside of Twilight, Starlight, and Trixie

I bet she’s read a book about casting teleportation spells before, so she knew what to do, but she’s never had the strength to cast such a spell before.

I lost it when she teleported!  
I honestly didn’t see that coming

I wholly agree! Sweetie has the makings of a great mage. Even for a misguided destination and aching horn, achieving a teleportation spell is no small feat.  
Reminds me of ‘Surf and/or Turf’, where someone pointed out that Sweetie’s horn was glowing an instant before she ran to the fields at an unnatural speed. She had used an ‘Accellero’ spell, which Starlight had noted as a very advanced spell.

That’s what happens when you don’t stay in your cutie mark lane, kiddo.
 
At least she got the basics of displacement down first, that could have been grim otherwise.

Well, Twilight seems like she’s gonna have stuff on her plate, but yes, Sweetie Belle should keep practicing.
 
Well, maybe Starlight can help her with magic practice if she ever needs help.

It may have hurt, but she did something many other unicorns, including her own sister, can’t.
 
Twilight should definitely keep teaching her.

It clearly takes a lot of magical training and energy to pull off. And Sweetie has been training in magic (Twilight Time) so she probably knew the basics. Being in an adult body in a dangerous situation, she gave it a shot… and didn’t do half bad. But it hurt and she didn’t land quite where she wanted.
 
This is the kind of detail I adore in this show.

This moment made me do a little fist pump. Sweetie Belle pulling off a teleport was kinda badass. Haven’t seen that from her older sister even.

I thought teleportation was only a thing that magic nerds like Twilight and Glimmer could do.

Not bad for a first teleportation. It’s just lucky she ended up in a hay bale. It would’ve been worse if she wound up stuck in a wall or tree.
