Now I’m just imagining a story set on a timescale of eons, telling the tale of the endless games between the God of Chaos and the Elements of Harmony, with the stakes being the entire world.

Of course, Discord’s a bit too lazy to drag it out that long. Kind of his downfall, really. The full extent of the show reveals that his character is laid-back and prone to mood swings, framing the energetic schemes in his intro as more a rush of freshly awoken energy mixed with long-awaited revenge. Once he feels comfortable, he’s really content to sit on his throne until the next time he gets bored.

Twilight Sparkle: So… what now?
Discord: Now we move on to stage 2 of our game. And, if I may be so candid, you’ve all been great fun to play with so far. I can see there being a stage 3, a stage 4, a stage N, a stage i… In fact, we could do this dance… FOREVER. Mwahahahahaaaa…! AAAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!
DM: AAAAAAND with THAT, I think it’s time for a break. And maybe a quick pow-wow or two.
Pinkie Pie: Pizza tracker says it’s on its way!
Applejack: Ah’m exhausted. And THAT’S out-of-character.
Rainbow Dash: Can someone fill me in on, like… everything?
