Page 1042 - Problem SolventThe accusation here is that Twi’s player does this sort of thing accidentally, of course, not intentionally. For all of the fun I have as a DM pretend-shaking my fist at my rascally players, I can’t say I’ve ever had the displeasure of someone vindictively going out of their way to disrupt the game and everyone playing in it for disruption’s sake. Even from Fallout is Dragons’ Masterweaver/Javolt, it was evident that the craziness came from a genuine (if perhaps twisted) place. Actually intentionally toxic play – even if it occasionally produces a fun story – is not something I want to portray or celebrate much in muh brand.
Transcript:
DM: So I have bad news and good news about Angel.
Fluttershy: Nooooo…
DM: Good news: He’s got a lot more movement speed!
Fluttershy: Nooooooooo…!
DM: Okay, okay. Your animal companion is unaffected – perhaps due to his proximity to you? It’s just the rest of the bunnies in the area that are… that way.
Twilight Sparkle: Hmm. So everything’s getting enchanted to do crazy things. What if–
DM: I swear, you better not have ALREADY found a way to derail this.
Rainbow Dash: PLEASE tell me you’ve already derailed this. That would be AWESOME.
Pinkie Pie: If you’re gonna derail this, can you wait until I buy some chocolate syrup?
Twilight Sparkle: That’s not– I never intend to do that!! My character just applies what they know to try and solve the problem! Like always! Like any person would!
DM: Yeah, and those solutions tend to take a certain one-step, one-fell-swoop kind of form.
Twilight Sparkle: Oh. Well, no promises this isn’t one of those!
