what else can possibly be said of delta? you want a comic of her hanging around the junkyard, working on engines, and going wild at parties? actually I think I might enjoy a comic like that…[/bq]

Actually, having more of Delta's daily life could be a good thing to see.

Those are some of my fav pics relating to Delta. Mainly because they could always make me wonder just how far did Delta fallen. Those could lead to some amazing stories that show how horrible is her life right now. If you add to that the fact that due to all the drinking, smokeing and space fuel fumes Delta's days are pretty much numbered, you could make it into a really interesting story. Maybe Delta agreed to a bank heist because she needed money? What would she need it for? Her own selfish needs like drugs or alcohol? Maybe she was trying to get herself some money to start a new life with? Or maybe it was because she wanted to buy Apogee something amazing for her 18th birthday. Whole arc of "Delta trying to get a better life on her own" could come out AMAZING, tough it would need for the story to focus on Delta.

Instead of her being portrayed as a jerk who can't move on with her life, it could be turned into a beautifull story of a mother who loves her daughter, but being unable to accept help from someone who wronged her, because her "pride" is the last thing she has. Her health is gone, she is living in a dump, family (other than Jet and Apogee) seems to have abandoned her too. The only thing she's left with, is her "pride". She is a proud mare who went through all the troubles, tasks and exams just to pursue her dreams. A goal that has been stolen from her, by someone who now wants to play the "White knight" and come to her rescue. A story like that has alot of potential.

I do agree the reboot is putting a lot more of the blame on delta’s shoulders, but I don’t know if it’s apogee doing it. what would really be good for this story in my opinion, is if jet and apogee are wrong, and delta finds her salvation some other way. buuuut I think I’ll still enjoy this comic, even if delta tearfully confesses how wrong she has been all these years trying to find her own way when she should have listened to her husband all along, while both apogee and jet smile and nod approvingly. it’s just an interesting scenario, and I’m a total art slut for shinodage anyway. Apogee is the one who makes Delta into the Villian. From her perspective, Jet is her loving father, who did nothing but his best to help her, and now her mother, who keeps rejecting the help. From this perspective, it's only natural to see Delta in negative light, as that's what Apogee's narration shows. If the story would focus on Delta, it give us more insight to her reasons on why she keeps rejecting the help. Delta has a certain philosophy to life, and the best way to learn character's philosophy, is to "become them". Delta's philosophy makes sense to Delta and her alone, because it's purely based on her emotions.

If the ending will turn into simple "I'm sorry for overreacting all these years", the story will lose ALOT of it's power. Her "journey" is similar to one of Edmund Dantes from "The Count of Monte Cristo". They are both characters who had been betrayed in thier youth, loseing many years of thier life. Now, when Edmund wanted revenge at those who had wronged him, Delta just wants to have "her own life, which she reached by her own, hard work". This seems to be her goal. The idea behind her current actions. She is gripping onto the last bit of her old, "proud" self, because that's who she is. If the ending would be just the "I was wrong, you were right" kind of endings, it would make her so her attempts were for nothing. Essentially, she just wasted her whole life. Instead, the story should strive for the "there is no right or wrong". The "perfect way" would be for Delta and Jet to get back together for the sake of Apogee. Maybe she ran away and they need to go and look for her together? Maybe some evil ponies kidnapped her, and they work together to get her back to safety? They need to "talk it out" instead of having one side just apologizeing (No, Jet shouldn't be the only to apologize ethier). This story doesn't seem to be afraid of embraceing it's own "dark" elements, which is a shame. It tries to be too "safe" at times, which is especially visible with the characters, as Apogee doesn't seem to fit the world where every pony has some "issues" or secrets.

Still, no matter what, I will be supporting this story. Delta Vee is probably one of the better characters of the fandom, and this story is deliciously more adult than the show. Even if there is alot of what I concider to be "wasted potential", I still love reading bout the Space Ponyos ^^
