I’m still a fan of Equestria Girls and I don’t want it to end for a very good reason and we need more than just a third season, we need more films of Equestria Girls now
Former Brony 1: Heeeeey, remember, Equestria Girls
Former Brony 2: What?
Former Brony 1: You know, that show that made Ponies girls…
Former Brony 2: Huh, that was a thing?

It can not be that Hasbro just gives up. And now the creators of this series are too cowardly to see the mistake. Shame on you Producers and Animators from Hasbro, just unbelievable.

I think its a lot of factors, with TRU being the biggest. Mind you, EG came out when FiM was at its peak popularity, so it rode with that wave, and now I think FiM is just losing steam, and by proxy, sales. Hell, MLP has been barely mentioned in the recent earnings reports from Hasbro.
Hasbro spent big bucks to buy Eone Entertainment(about $4 billion, if I’m not mistaken) so they could get the film studio as well as the rights to the very popular character “Peppa The Pig”. Add that with their recent buy of Power Rangers, the fact the economy is not doing so well, Meghan McCarthy is no longer part of Hasbro(Spike says “Don’t let the door hit your skull on the way out, bitch**.” ) and has instead joined Netflix Animation(Along with a lot of animators recently, including big names like Craig McCracken and Alex Hirsch, Friendship is Magic is ending in a month, Bronycon is no more, with all those factors and again I’ll list them
-Hasbro already spent a pretty penny on some big acquisitions, and most of their budget will go to things like Power Rangers and Transformers.
-MLP isn’t the big thing it once was, it’s really died down, I’d say about 95% of it has been snuffed out of the media, and once Friendship is Magic ends along with Equestria Girls…I imagine it will go down even further, to the point of becoming a cult thing
-Meghan McCarthy the one who spearheaded Equestria Girls, has left the company.
-Equestria Girls toys are not selling, so……“Cancel it”__
-Toys R Us has closed down(Yeah I know there are some small tiny stores up, but let’s face it, Toys R Us is dead.) so that was a big blow to Hasbro
-The potential Trade War with China, is also putting a damper on Hasbro
With all that, it makes sense for them to just go to Nick and his team and say
“Yeaaaaaaaaaaah…remember when we said “Equestria Girls will continue beyond FIM?” Yeah, we changed our minds.”
Bronycon is over
MLP: FIM is over(Officially in the U.S. and Canada on October 12th)
Equestria Girls is over

Maybe the stock market? I think it would be a good place to know if the facts mentioned in this message are true or not.

I’m a marketing student and I’m trying to remember everything I’ve learned to try to see if the reason for Hasbro’s financial problems is something decipherable. Pretty sure they’re doing something wrong and that’s why Equestria Girls isn’t selling toys very well… Besides, you know, Toys R Us’ closure.
