well, inspite of the fact that we've proven he can be easily be defeated by a magical entities superior or in greater numbers than himself, he has enough magic to basically do whatever he wants. I don't really see any reason as to why he could extend her lifespan to match his own. After all he's going to be pretty depressed when she dies of old age.
(also I have every intention to give attention to anyone who deserves it)
