Griffins were shown not so much, only once.
Further, I did not like how the lands of the griffins were depicted. I imagined as a formidable great empire, with a huge city with statues and tall houses.
But they showed as if it were a miserable backward village, as if it was a ghetto area.
Gryphons were in the show from season 1. New characters help the show keep from becoming stale. I enjoy having creatures besides ponies to watch
