Cheese Sandwich: “By the way, how’s Boneless 1 doing? He been taking good care of you?”  
Pinkie Pie: “You could say that! A few years ago when Tirek was taking over Equestria we were trying to figure out a way to stop him and the Tree of Harmony gave us this weird box with six keyholes but we didn’t know where the keys were and then Discord marked some pages in the diary we had been writing for a while because we wanted to keep track of all the friendship lessons we were learning even though we weren’t sending letters to Celestia anymore and Twilight pointed out that we were all recently put in situations that tested our individual Elements of Harmony and then got gifts after we pulled through in those situations and I remembered how my desire to bring laughter to others was tested when you came to town to help plan Rainbow Dash’s birthiversary party but everything worked out between us and before you left you gave me Boneless as a gift and I took care of him and fed him and let him play with Gummy a lot but then Twilight figured he and a bunch of other objects we had gotten as gifts might be important in figuring out how to open that box the Tree of Harmony gave us that I told you about earlier so we brought Boneless and all these other things to the box and then before we knew it they all turned into keys and then we used the keys on the box and then the keys went inside the box and then we went inside the box and there was a whole bunch of rainbow energy and we beat Tirek and then the box grew into a castle and Twilight lives there now and there’s a map in the castle that makes our cutie marks glow and sends us on missions across Equestria whenever some ponies or other creatures are having a friendship problem though we haven’t been sent on any missions since the Tree of Harmony broke so I dunno if that’s still a thing anymore or not but I’m pretty sure Boneless is still a part of the castle and watching over us and I still try to talk to him sometimes when I’m in the throne room!”  
Cheese Sandwich: “That’s wonderful! I always knew he’d find his life’s purpose as a magical accessory turned enormous sanctuary dedicated to solving ponies’ relationship problems!”  
Pinkie Pie: “Wow, you did!? Because that’s oddly specific!”  
Cheese Sandwich: “Yeah, Boneless always thought I was crazy. BUT WHO’S CRAZY NOW!?”
 

 
With our brief intermission behind us, it’s time to continue the Season 9 Retirement Party as we count down to the big event itself! This week’s comic is based on The Last Laugh, aka: “Serious Albert and the Whimsical Factory of Joke Props All Based Around Subverted Expectations: the Episode”. Of course it’s great to see Weird Al in an episode again, but this episode was very useful in reminding me why Pinkie is my favorite pony. Despite the more dour atmosphere of Cheese’s existential crisis, having these two in the same room still proves to be more than physics and logic is really prepared for, and we’ve got a lot of laughs, a lot of nonsense, a lot of Cheese singing a polka song as is to be expected, and all in all a great showcase of Pinkie spreading laughter and happiness to others the only way she knows how. Glad we got to see Cheese again before the show was over.
 
Sans Smirk was great, too. His analytical mindset and monotone delivery yet passion for gags and the study and sharing of humor was a really cool combination, and he made a great assistant and counterpoint to Cheese during this whole factory adventure. He reminds me a lot of Maud. Hence why this comic exists.
