Description
While Tirek and Chrysalis are combining their magical powers to wreck everyone’s shit, Cozy Glow has mastered using the Bewitching Bell and has caused all of the pony races to start fighting each other again, thus making the wendigos appear again.

I think I saw someone on Youtube guess that Grogar was Discord, but they also thought that it was because he was still secretly evil rather than him preparing a test for Twilight.
Me? I had no idea that that he was Discord, but I definitively knew the true villains of the finale would be the trio instead of him.

But that’s not what happened. What actually happens is arguably worse.

OP is right.
I’m tempted to put the “OP is a Wizard” or the “OP is Psychic” tag on this. At the very least, maybe the “OP is Right” tag.

As a bit of a (possible) counterpoint…
If this is exactly what it looks like, Chrysalis doing this of her own free will… she’s trying to murder Spike. I’d guess this wouldn’t be happening in the first stage of the battle, so this very well could be intended to be her crossing the Moral Event Horizon. I’m not at all sure she’s getting redeemed, at least.
I didn’t say anything about reforming Grogar or letting them defeat him. Rather I’d see it more likely they’d try, fail, and then the Mane Six would have to beat Grogar anyway. No redemptions at all is what I think is more likely.

Exactly!
But reforming GROGAR? At least those three had moments in Frenemies that forshadowed friendship, and they came so close to accepting it. Tell me ONE thing Grogar did that made him seem redeemable.
Besides, Grogar being overthrown by the trio just seems like a dumb idea. He was built up as a mysterious, powerful foe. To undo that in the finale will not only make his inclusion in the show mean nothing, but also would come out of nowhere. There is no reason why 3 idiots who barely even know how to use the bell would outsmart an ancient villain who has been setting up his plan for an entire millennium and was the original owner of the bell.
But can we really believe that those three COULD reform? I’m not so sure. Although I really want an origin story for Cozy Glow because how the hell a filly became so evil I don’t even understand.
