In Applejack’s defense, I think one of the last times we saw her flying she nearly plummeted to her doom.

Just leave the mudpone behind. The flight will be more pleasant, as will the destination.

Twilight frowns, and turns to Dash.
 
“All the times she’s been in balloons, and NOW she becomes afraid to fly?”
 
“Yeah, I know. Wanna just teleport onto the plane?”
 
“I’m not sure that’s right. She’ll freak out.”
 
“DARN TOOTIN’ I WILL! PLANES CRASH!”
 
Rolling her eyes, Twilight states “so do balloons. Really, just get aboard. You know I can teleport us to the ground if something like that happens.”
 
“WHY AIN’T WE JUST TELEPORTIN’ THERE? OR TAKIN’ A BALLOON!”
 
“Every balloon is out and I can’t teleport all the way to the Crystal Empire. It will be okay, I promise.”
