Description
Encouraged, among other, by the gorgeous woodworks by xofox I purchased a piece of seasoned basswood and carved a little sculpture of my tails of Equestria pen and paper oc Multi Purpose out of it.
I have been working on this since June and it took a long while to carve this figure (first the raw work with saws and a knife and later on the finer works with the same dremel that I use for my engravings (though I used a much larger variety of different grinding heads for this one).
I am quite happy with how this figure turned out, especially as this is my first real wood carving (I experimented a little with it in the past, but never made anything elaborate from it).
Here is a little animation showing the progress from a block of wood to the final sculpture throughout the month.
Now I might proceed to varnish and then paint the figure, though I might go for only the main colors of fur and mane for I got to admit that I have no idea how to squeeze eyes onto this figure without them being either too much on the side or barely visible squeezed into the narrow line between Multi Purpose’s snout and his unruly mane ;)

Thank you very much Groomlake :)
I will probably upload some still pictures of the completed figure and am also going to paint it, but I won’t manage to do so before August.
