Description
Concept poster for my headcanon backstory of Trixie.
Before she was The Great and Powerful Trixie, she was The Tremendous Trixie: a young and adorable little assistant to her mother, The Stupendous Spotlight Lulamoon. Being just the two of them, Spotlight and Trixie traveled across Equestria putting on shows, until a few weeks prior to a show in Canterlot, when Spotlight was admitted to the hospital. With Spotlight unable to perform, Trixie went out alone, and not only earned her cutie mark, but was able to raise enough funding for her mother’s treatments. Although she made it though, Spotlight was forced to retire from live show business; Trixie continuing to do local solo performances in Canterlot, until she finally set out on her own and became The Great and Powerful Trixie.
And for anyone who wants to know, I gave Spotlight an alternate cutie mark from her IDW appearances. I sketched it once when I was drawing an older/modern version of her.

The main reason I went with Lulamoon as part of her name, is because I’m part of that tiny fraction of the fandom who think that Equestria actually does have a full/first-middle-last naming system, but it simply hasn’t become apparent yet (ponies always using/giving just their first, first and middle, or first and last names, but never all three).
Edited
True, that’s why I simply said “better”
But it’s not really ideal, due to her lighter color scheme.
Whereas Spectacle Showcase just rolls off the tongue quite nicely, despite its length.
Also I could have sworn there was already a background pony somewhere named Dandy Lion.
I don’t think the comics themselves used the term Spectacle or Showcase for her. But rather someone who worked on the comics brought up those being possible names for her on Twitter.
That being said, yeah I agree for the most part. I don’t know if I’d give the mom Lulamoon for her name since she seems to be more sun based in terms of design (her cutie mark and warmer color scheme).
It’s wholly uncreative…
I swear everytime something like this happens, it leads to it being way too basic.
Reminds me of the time they removed the fun nicknames for a certain suggestive theming.
Not to mention the comics literally referred to her as “Spectacle” or “Showcase”
That’s why I always went with the name Spectacle Showcase.
Though, Spotlight Lulamoon isn’t bad either.
Certainly better than “Dandy Lion”
Yeah. I’m not too fond of that name for her either.
Which is what derpibooru seems to be going with.
