Changeling hives like this one are scattered throughout Equestria and they usually only deal with ponies out of necessity. They prefer disguising themselves as small critters like birds or squirrels when they need to gather food, ponies make plenty of love and never know when a little goes missing.
However one queen in particular is growing more fond of dealing with the ponies directly and her regular visits from the princess of the night.
