And? That was cleary an accident they prevented from happing. Excuse me, they left her with the aunts. In a house. And the aunts love her.
 
 
They left her in the custody of trusted beloved family members so she could get an education, make friends, and live her life in a safe stable town while they where off doing there unsafe work.

They did leave her alone at home for years instead of giving her to somepony to look after her.  
Scootaloo got heavy abandonment issues to the combined neglect.
 
Where was the love for her? I Need a god damn good reason to forgive him and the orphan Fantasy of “my parents being super important so they don´t have time for me” does not fly.
