Lessee now; Thod here debuted in “Gauntlet of Fire”, which aired on April 16, 2016. How to Train Your Dragon aired on March 26, 2010, while How to Train Your Dragon 2 aired on June 13, 2014. So this specific design did, in fact, debut after HtTYD came out.

In fact, depending on which version of Spike we’re talking about, G4 Spike also postdates the HtTYD movies – the Season 1 premiere aired on October 10, 2010, making the original How to Train Your Dragon older than any G4 dragon by about six months at a minimum.
