Still don’t like them.
they do look like the characters and it’s pretty obvious that they change the art style because they wanted the movie to look like an actual theatrically released film and not a TV movie that was played in theatres
The style changes seem fairly minimal enough to be its own thing but without deviating too much from the show’s style. They’re chubbier, have ears that are a bit more horse like, and wings have more detail and feathers to them. But overall they look like the characters to me.
They don’t look like the characters. I much prefer the show design. That’s how MLP always was, after all. Changing the style just looks weird.

Road trip doesn’t mean just in a car. You can have a road trip with a wagon, like in Pinkie Apple Pie, or a balloon, like in this.
I don’t think that was an actual premiere and it was a private screening for boulder

The why use the movie style for special and not a full-on direct to DVD sequel?
They should add “Warning: May Contain Spoilers to actual special!”.
