You've seen her at her height, and you've seen her fall and crack and how her personality has fractured because of it.
She also was the one who was the most honestly fractured when an act of honest kindness was done for her.
Granted, a lot of that could be attributed to her voice actress' talent as Kathleen Barr has been doing work easily as early as Beast Wars Transformers (Airrazor, Botanica), and Dragon Tales (Wheezie), among dozens of others over the past 25 years.

I feel you forget that Pharynx was still a black and red bug when he changed and he still was somewhat nasty.
Also, by changing, they are no longer starving.
