Description
This was a monstrous undertaking to be sure, especially considering it’s only the second thing I’ve ever sewn before. Far too many hours went into drawing up the patterns, testing the designs, and getting it all finished. It was a lot of work, but oddly enough, it was also one of the most exhilarating experiences I’ve ever had working on something. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. ;-)
Absolutely everything was created using my own patterns. Allow me to take you on a little tour of everything you see:
Vinyl Scratch
She stands about 15” tall (17.5” with her horn), 17” long, and is made entirely of minky. Her eyes and cutie marks are machine embroidered. Her glasses have wire in them to keep their shape, and they attach with the help of a magnet in the bridge of her nose. She also has a magnet in her mouth that lets her hold the records. She is mostly machine stitched, but also has hand-stitching in her mouth and horn. Her mane, tail, ears, and horn are hand-stitched on.
She is very soft and huggable, but is not suited for rough play because of her hand stitching. Gentle cuddling is okay, though (and encouraged!).
The Speakers
Both speakers measure 24” tall with a 12” square top and bottom. They are fully stuffed, while the speakers themselves stay sturdily introverted with the help of sturdy posterboard.
The Turntable
The turntable is 17” long, 7” wide, and just under 7” tall. The top is stuffed with craft foam to keep the table’s shape. The lights on the front and the equalizer on the top are both machine-embroidered. Both needle arms swivel easily and the records are removable.
The Stage Lights
These are a little extra I whipped up at the end to help add to the scenery. There are four of them, including the red and yellow ones shown, as well as a blue one and a green one. They measure about 9” long, and have hoops sewn on the tops and backs that allow them to be hung from the ceiling.
