Doodled this back in March, KirinDOS!Scootaloo :> Birth name Diantha, Scootaloo’s wings and horn are underdeveloped (nothing to do with poverty or malnutrition, and nothing inherited from her parents, just some really bad luck to have both conditions at the same time), meaning that it is unlikely she’ll ever be able to fly or use magic (though she can shapeshift, but isn’t anything special at it).
 
All she wants most in the world is to be a famous flier like her idols; the Echelons (Hyperborea’s equivalent to the Wonderbolts), and of course, her surrogate sister Rainbow Dash.
 
Fun fact: Scootaloo and Fluttershy are cousins! Their grandparents are an earth pony stallion and a changeling mare, who are the parents of Scootaloo’s father (a changeling), and Fluttershy’s mother (an earth pony). In my universe, changelings and ponies can and do interbreed, but the offspring will always be one or the other with no true hybrids. From her grandmother, Fluttershy inherited her tall, thin stature, some more prominent than average canine teeth, and her famous empath-based magic.
 
All members of their family have flower-based names; Scootaloo’s grandmother’s name is Patula, her father Gladiolus, auntie Peony, and Peony’s daughter, Posey (Fluttershy).
