Yes, that’s what got me looking into how they fitted into the lore of the show (mainly so it wasn’t just me bringing a furry character into places like Derpibooru and FimFic and actually was an established species) That’s where I discovered Catrina and her role as villain of the original gen 1 ponies and the art she already has here.
 
So rather than have her as a lanky skinny cat like the rest of the species I’ve seen, I decided that she’d be a baker and that her figure reflected her pass time and occupation. So tada, we have a soft, curvy feline (with decent sized tiddies because who doesn’t like fluffy pillows XD)

I wouldn’t of minded seeing Abyssinians appear in an episode, or adapt Katrina as one. I kinda like seeing new species in the show. Apparently, some appeared in the comic.

Catrina was a villian in Generation 1 of My Little Pony. She was an “Abyssinian”.
