Description
“And check,” Apple Trend said aloud with a smug satisfaction as he marked off the last item on the list. All that was left to do now was head home and help his mother finish preparing for the reunion party. Easy as apple pie.
At least, it should have been.
On his way out of the marketplace, Apple Trend came upon a large crowd of excited ponies blocking his path. It was a bit strange to see so many Ponyville residents in one place without some kind of special event going on but Trend didn’t think much of it. He had to get home so whatever was going on was none of his business as far as he was concerned.
“Excuse me,” he said to the nearest stallion, “Can I get through? I’m just trying to get out of here.”
“Oh yeah. Of course,” the stallion replied, adjusting himself so that Trend could make his way through.
As he made his way further into the crowd, the ponies he asked to move became more irritable which, in turn, made Apple Trend more irritable in response. He was about ready to chew some pony out as he finally squeezed between two stubborn ponies and almost stumbled into a handsome blue stallion with a darker blue mane.
“Whoa there, miss! There’s no need to take cuts. I promise I’ll get to everyone if you’re just patient,” the stallion said with a charismatic smile that frankly made Trend want to buck his perfect teeth out. Being mistaken for a mare was nothing new to Trend but, seeing as he was in already in a foul mood, it was enough to tip him over the edge this time.
“I am not a miss and I am not your fan! I don’t even know who the hay you are,” Apple Trend snapped, getting in the presumptuous stallion’s face as the crowd let out a synchronized gasp of surprise. “You happen to be blocking my way which you may have noticed on your own if you actually considered a pony other than yourself.”
His piece said, Apple Trend angrily stomped over to the other side of the crowd. He didn’t have to say excuse me this time. They cleared out of his way automatically. Okay… So maybe that was a bit of an overreaction, Apple Trend thought as he cleared the crowd and calmed down a bit. Still, it had worked. And it would probably do that stallion some good to know that he’s not Celestia’s gift to ponykind anyway.

After purchasing a few items for his mother, Apple Trend heads home when he runs into a large crowd of ponies blocking his path.
