Yeah the real thing about this that irks me is the fact Family Guy and all its characters are trash now. I can't comfortably look at any kind of fan tribute to it anymore.

The show was okay before season 4. Immediately after that everything became trash. Shock value and trash. Brian actually used to be an okay person - actually one of the more moral of the family. Now he makes atheists and liberals look bad because he pushes that agenda while at the same time is one of the most unlikable characters in animation. He acts like he stands for something, but he doesn't.

It's not even just the fact his character is a bad person - he's really unlikable to the audience. Compare that to Rick from Rick and Morty. Rick is far from a "good guy", he's almost an anti-hero and in many episodes he actually IS an anti-hero who's driven by his own selfish desires and is willing to sacrifice entire worlds so he can get wasted or something. Yet despite that, somehow his show manages to make him enjoyable to watch instead of repulsive.

For example Brian is a womanizer while Rick is just an honest whore-monger. He's much more honest about what he does want to party he doesn't manipulate the woman into thinking he wants a serious emotional relationship - exactly the opposite actually, he openly mocks the idea of human attachment. Brian though is the ultimate example of manipulative sleaze. He pretends to be prince charming to women when he wants some, lies to them, and them dumps them after getting what he wants. Even Quagmire is more likeable. because like Rick he's honest about what he's after, but Brian sits there at a blind date dinner table trying to act all "woke" and "enlightened" so he can impress people even though his actions suggest he actually has no values anymore. He hides behind the shield of morality while being incredibly immoral, and the show doesn't even seem to treat that as a problem. The whole show seems so confused about what it wants to be while at the same time just doesn't seem to care anymore. Family Guy just sort of...exists now. It's worse than the Simpsons because they go for "outrageous bad shit for the sake of it" more often.

Brian is a parasite now. A selfish, toxic parasite that pretends to be moral and spouts progressive political agenda while not actually upholding to any of it - I've seen him say things that make him sound like a feminist yet he treats women as objects. He seriously hides behind the "straight man" shield because that's what his character used to be in the earlier seasons - he used to actually be a better person, but now it's like he's a scumbag pretending to be that same guy so he can get admiration and sex for it.
