Emerald says he’ll take a small bite, but that he already ate dinner so he isn’t that hungry.
“That’s just ore for me!” She says, letting Emerald take a bite.
It’s nicely flakey. Cherry flavored with a slight hint of almond. Emerald tells Ruby everything that happened with the seance, and asks more details on where she went.
“Uhh, let’s see… More mages, I think. That’s what they looked like to me. There were also a few guys I actually knew. “Career Criminals” is what Barber always called them. Who else…” Ruby says, tapping her chin, “A lot of supply places. She’s ordering a bunch of stone. Some groceries. Alchemy ingredients and potions.”
Ruby suddenly yawns and asks if this can wait until tomorrow. Emerald would like to hear everything fresh from her mind, but at the same time he doesn’t want to discomfort Ruby any.
As she heads over to the bed with another yawn Emerald spies Ruby’s shirt. It’s pretty dirty. He looks down at his, and though it’s not as dirty as Ruby’s it still isn’t clean. The colt then tries to remember the last time he showered, and realizes it was probably before they even went out to the Zebralands.
Emerald goes to his bathroom and heats himself a bath. It’s not as nice as Joyride’s giant tub, but it’s still comfortable. So comfortable that he starts to fall asleep, causing him to sink down the tub. He coughs up some water and sits up straight, and deciding it’s perhaps time to sleep he dries himself and heads to bed.
He crawls in, and just as the colt starts to get comfy a red glow shines from his chest. Looking down he sees the amulet is lit up. He lifts it to his face, and a second after holding it there Emerald hears it speak.
“You are interested in finding the other demons in the amulets are you not? I can show you where one of them is if you want.”
After this it chuckles softly to itself.
