@Changeling17N
Leeches are still used on occasion as a treatment for certain things. Not nearly as much since the Four Humors Theory fell out in favor of Germ Theory, but still.
Huh, I see.
In the past doctors used leeches
I mean, maybe not life threatening but having a leech suck your blood is rather bad.
How is it dangerous?
@Background Pony #0690
You should feed the leech pone :P
That is the safer option as far as infection goes. I approve!
This takes me back to the times where I saw a leech right next to my foot.😱😱
Agreed. I’d let her have a feed.
Plus, as redweasel has already pointed out, she looks like she’s already pretty well-fed, so she probably wouldn’t take much anyway.
@SCH01
Yeah, leeches (and a myriad of other parasites) aren’t pleasant to think about in depth.
Edited because: Accidentally posted early.
She seems fairly well-mannered. I’d let her use all her mouths, but would warn her there’s some funky stuff in there.
Well this gives me nightmares
Means she would be immune to malaria though
she’s probably just bummed that a leech can drink enough blood to sustain itself for years, and wants a little nibble here and there for affection.
She’s definitely chonky :D

@ObliviaTheChangeling
They can even be bred to be completely sterile. They even still use them today for bloodletting and such because it’s painless, effective, and won’t infect the patient :D
Well, then. She can go right ahead.
In that case, hook me up
fatty fat fat!
@ObliviaTheChangeling
@ÜberReaktor
interestingly, leeches do not transmit any blood-borne diseases… provided they don’t get squeezed. it’s only literal backwash that can infect people with contaminated blood.
@ACApenetrator50
Like I said in my first comment (under the spoiler), leech saliva is an anaesthetic, so them feeding on you doesn’t hurt, and oftentimes, people don’t even notice a leech feeding on them if they don’t see it.I
Which is a thing, ‘cause, as I also said in the first comment (again, under the spoiler), leech have three mouths with a hundred teeth in each, and frankly, I wouldn’t want to feel that.
