Sorry this one took so long guys. I strained my neck, so sitting at a desk too long is hard now.
But anyway.
This page gives us a much needed moment between Celestia and Sunset, but also clears up some things regarding continuity, which people have been asking about.
In short, all the stuff from the other movies and specials DID happen, though not exactly the same way. Most notably, of course, the Timber x Twilight thing. I decided on this because I do like the addition of the Mane 6’s powers, and the resolution of Midnight. Plus, I love Forgotten Friendship, so of course, that was going to be canon. For those who still want a solid timeline: every comic where twilight still wears her CP uniform takes place after FG, but before LoE. Everything after that takes places after LoE and sprinkled between the other specials and shorts. The events of which took place mostly the same, with some exceptions here and there to fit my narrative.

Well he basically says in the description that he’s incorporating the events into the story. If I recall right, he started the comic before Legend of Everfree, but had it set in such a way that the story takes place after. So, he’s acknowledging it, and retconning the story to do so, but not back tracking or changing what he currently has.
