I was just caught in the “seems legit” moment that Ocellus was trying to blend in as a random pony and keeping her changeling identity secret. Hence she wouldn’t answer to her pony name, but have a alias…  
Kinda like how Chrysalis was pretending to be Shutterbug to steal pony DNA for evil and nefarious reasons…  
Of course Ocellus wouldn’t create fake Pony Personas and sneak around Ponyville… Performing all sorts of sneaky changeling espionage… Right??
