Things in the comic like the CMC befriending Discord, and such have never been regarded in the show.
There was a couple of comic ponysonas that’s made a few appearances, O&O, and some convenient things like the CMC being in the filly scouts.
Yeah, the comic sometimes advertises the show, but I’ve never really seen anything exclusive to the comic ever be adapted into the show.
I remember legends of magic being made pretty much just to build up at the season 7 finale and ended pretty much as soon as it was done doing so
Yeah, they probably just asked ’em later if they could use their ponysonas, (as a nod to the comics) and they said ok.
I remember alot of IDW-haters were afraid it meant IDW was influencing the show, but from what I hear, the show influences the comics instead actually.
Yeah I remember when Jim was asked about it he just straight ups said it was dumb.I would imagine all the episodes for a season would have been written up before they even start designing characters
That makes no sense, because Andy & Katie only work on the comics. Of course, things don’t have to make sense for haters sometimes…
I remember some even used their negative opinions about the episode as an excuse to pass them again claiming that their involvement resulted in less time to write the episode

I don’t think that’s how it works. They may do a few more G4 things after the show is over, but they are obviously going to move on to G5 as well.
True, but they return to G4 if this future project bombs. Anything is possible.
I doubt it. Hasbro seems pretty set in stone about this, especially with the movie coming out in 2021

Some of the show’s issues came about during Season 3’s half-season, where an unsure show staff assumed FiM was ending and introduced several things with no plan for how to continue with them.
This time, they have certainty. They know it’s the final season, so they can put a proper cap on things without having to guess at what Lord Hasbro’s plans are.

I believe the newer seasons have more Good-Fantastic episodes on average compared to some of the older seasons who had a monopoly on “filler like” and forgettable episodes with no meaning or consequence. Aside from the openers and finales they were just a bunch of random slice of life episodes with little meaning which isn’t bad per say just compared to the never seasons that had over arching story and plot lines as well as slice of life episodes which usually covered mature and controversal topics that mirrored our real world with a spin on things with a moral behind them and still managed to make it fun. That’s what I meant by it got more mature. I don’t hate the older seasons, they hold a special place in my animation loving heart. I just don’t think the show got “worse”.
