I didn’t like her much at first, save for her design which is definitely awesome. Now I really hope she’s getting some kind of redemption arc, and I normally wouldn’t say that say that like ever.
 
What got me is that line from Lost Treasure of Griffonstone. Just a perfect little moment of defiance in the face of the ponies’ saviour complex and condescending attitudes.
 
PONKS: [after hearing about the collective pride and heart of the griffon kingdom being ripped out forever and its terminal decline] No wonder Twilight’s book ended with the coronation of King Gutto. Who’d want to record a history that sad?
 
GILDA: It’s not sad! [beat] Do we look sad to you?
 
It’s sold with just the right balance of bitterness, pride, misdirected resentment, and nascent awareness that individual pride and avarice is all they have left to make it a complete wham line. Poor griffons! I want to hug you all, but beaks and claws and everygriffon trying to shaft everyone else for a couple of bits.

Didn’t never really like Gilda that much but I really wanna se her again before the show ends.
