Wow you’re a real douchebag.
I didn’t find Grubber or the Storm King amusing. The jokes just fell flat. If you did, fine, I don’t fault you for it, but to me they just didn’t have anything going for them.
One Piece.
For someone that reads the comics you missed the point that the Storm King is no dictator. He does not even want to rule he just likes to conquer. The conquering pays for his future exploits.
I’d rather watch Storm King for hours than see another minute of Tempest! Hell, I liked (and still do) Grubber more than her! I’m sick of “serious badass” emo characters in general! I want to see a character with a tragic backstory that is still smiling and optimistic about the future.
And even then, that is why I liked Storm King better than Tempest, and liked him in general. Yes he did not do anything “commanding and tyrannic” on screen, at least he had an original personality for an evil dictator. Tempest does not have an original personality. Infact, I would’ve loved it if they removed Tempest, and had Storm King do all the things she did while keeping his personality! That would not only remove the generic character from the movie, but it would’ve given Storm King to show his true potential.
I was starting to think I was the only one who didn’t!
It doesn’t help that all these people seem to think she’s this precious little snowflake but that Starlight, who was far less malicious and for less selfish reasons, should be burned at the stake. Her making her entrance by getting in cheap shots on the princesses (particularly Cadance, who had managed to avoid the Worf Effect up until that point) didn’t exactly sit well with me either.
True. But tbh I blame the MLP writers for this blur on Storm King’s tyranny. If they wanna show us that Storm King is a tyrant, they gotta do it in the movie. Not some nebulous to cannon comics. Cause I believe that he is a tyrant. And they gotta show it more in the movie.
I seriously hope that they do a “better” portrayal of him in this special. If he returns.
Also, wait you don’t like Edgehorse!?!
The canonicity (is that the right word?) of the books, comics, and other tie-in materials has always been nebulous at best. And it’s entirely possible to be a tyrant without being a particularly bright one.
The movie sucking doesn’t mean it’s not likely to be the primary influence on how characters created for the movie get portrayed in future animated material from the same group of creators, with the other interpretations largely ignored.
And if you think I like Edgehorse, you obviously haven’t seen anything I’ve said about her in other threads.
Bruh. There were moments in the book A Stormy Road where he told Tempest to wreak Mt. Aris. He told her that whole” don’t trust anybody” thing! Read the book. And The comics are enough proof of the real tyrant he is. To call him a mastermind sarcastically is the dumbest thing ever. Oh well, looks like you’re one of those bronies who only bases his opinion on a few scenes in a garbage move that praises the world’s most overrated whiny emo horse.
I think I should be the one rolling eyes at YOU.
The goal may have been his, but you have no evidence that the actual tactics used in the takeover weren’t Tempest’s game plan. Your “mastermind” didn’t even know what the powers he was trying to take actually did, to the point where he was surprised that he could move the sun, which is easily the most well-known of Celestia’s abilities.
But thanks for keeping it civil.
Bullcrp. He did all the planning of the actions of Tempest. She only followed his rule. Learn your facts before you talk sht about Storm King.
Also, go wipe yourself.
I’m still not looking forward to them talking up the Storm King as if we’ve all forgotten by now how utterly incompetant he was in the movie.
it will be enough just a ray of rainbows in the last minutes to finish it off definitively and enjoy the song of the end
Storm King. I hope.
What a time to be alive.
I mean, is it actually for real?
Or the fact Season 8 and 9 are set AFTER the movie and there have been references to the movie from time to time.
@Background Pony #3FE8
You DO realize Equestria Girls is a series of side-stories to the main canon, right?
it’s almost like the movie is canon
I presume it will be the other way around.
Does that mean the pony main 7 will come to the human world to help the human 7?
He’s somehow controlling the staff as a statue and using it to create a giant magic storm to get revenge on Twilight.
