I don’t think he ever announced anything but you can tell from his DeviantArt page that he is busy with DuckTales (probably watching season 2 too).

Like jumping from one fandom to another. some people just do that, its sad when there is a good artist making good stuffs and then that artist just leave the fandom.
Lately there hasn’t been much to post here since the artist has been making fanart for other series (mostly DuckTales).
