The Alicorn Amulet is a plot thread that’s just begging to be picked up on.

The way I see it for S9, Trixie’s backstory can’t be explained by having her “go everywhere with Starlight”. There are two things that stick out about her backstory - her parents, specifically her father, and her time at the rock farm. Her parents can be done with any pony (probably Applejack), but if they decide to mention the rock farm it’ll have to be with Pinkie, and they did “spoiler” that Pinkie has dealt with Trixie in S8 (buying fireworks and Pinkie taking her “working title” quote at the end of Yakity-Sax).
 
After The Road to Friendship episode I feel that they wanted her friendship with Starlight to seem broken so they can work in another episode in S9 where we goes off to deal with other ponies. Trixie may realize that she needs more friends and becomes a student to Twilight…this is why she follows Twilight to the library in the comic.
 
It makes me wonder if we’ll revisit the Alicorn Amulet and the Mirror Pool…they still exist. This may be all wrong, but having her in the comic also feels “wrong”.

Wait, the script actually calls for butt shots?

Speaking vampires, can you imagine seeing Fluttershy next to some bats and acting like them, but not looking like she’s in her bat form?

Nope, script said Trixie, I asked editor “is this what we want there?” And it was. I have very little influence in the art, the script also called uncanny amount of behind the pony shots. I knew i would take the blame for them, but what can you do?

Nice that Pencils still slips in a pony butt on occasion.

I wonder if that was meant to be starlight originally.

I like seeing that Trixie is on regular speaking terms with the Mane Six. It would be nice if the show did that instead of pairing Trixie with Starlight all the time.

Season 9 foreshadowing! Trixie actually does things with the Mane 6 without having Starlight around, the episode!
 
At first I thought Pinkie brought her there, but then Twilight “forced” her into the library…and that was all Trixie did in this comic. Weird.

There can never be too much Trixie. Only too little!

Well Trixie is the only other pony to know what it’s like to be possessed by an amulet that makes you behave differently.

The comic wasn’t Trixie enough, they made the right decision.
