Introverted Rainbow Dash is.. I don’t think I can formulate any word to describe how adorable that is.

I don’t think this is so much out of character as others think. The sonic rainboom episode, just like party of one for Pinkie, showed us that our favorite characters are hiding some insecurities behind their outer confidence. We also see this MMDW. When Rainbow starts to feel overshadowed or unimportant she got depressed. Even despite her incredible flying skill she STILL doesn’t feel she’s good enough if others aren’t harping on about her. She may not show it as openly traumatizing as Fluttershy does, but it’s clear the bullies did still have a lasting effect on her psyche.
 
The other thing is that, in this context, she’s not talking about her abilities or accomplishments. She’s talking about her appearance and her body. People want to see more of her body, and she’s feeling a little shy about showing off the goods to a bunch of random people. It just seems like an “I’m not cute” moment rather than actually saying she’s just your everyday pony.
