the policy here is that if the artist asks them not to share it, they delete it, buthowever most artists see that we mean no harm, or that they get more recognition since this site has actual folksonomy tags instead of deviantfail, or just don't care. but you don't have to get permission first, to share something someone created. it's only if they object to it afterward. perfectblue97 said "I hope they're linking back" because they were worried about sites that share stuff without credit (==\*cough\*==equestriadaily==\*cough\*==), but derpibooru links back and strongly enforces artist tags, so I think we're cool.
