Actually, it looks like she was preying on their fears and insecurities in order to help them when she saw them goofing off instead of learning for a big test.

Maybe not, but even without understanding the language, she was manipulative as heck in this one.
Working on the theory she’s part of Neighsay’s larger plan as I think she’s related to him (niece most likely), I think she was trying to lure the student 6 down there to either get them out of the way, and/or to effectively have them end up disabling this defensive system that is part of the castle/school root system, so that it can be used as part of the larger plan (eg, perhaps a route for them to bring nasties into the School to show that its not safe). Cozy clearly urged them to look for this, and after they got out, she seemed pleased it was cleared…
