thousands of grass leaves grow in length and grab Tia’s legs and pull her to the floor  
they wrap around her covering her whole body apart from her horn (that includes the face)  
Tia fights and struggles to get free but the tendrils keep wrapping her up again

but relax and you wont get hurt  
if you keep thrashing around like that you’re going to sprain something

Laughter = Hydrokinesis? What? Why even incorporate elemental powers? Why not just give her emotion manipulation? Or sound powers? Or cartooon shenanigans?
 
Meh, not my story, not my call. Still, it seems like the authors defaulting to tired old magical girl cliches… oh, wait. :P

I was cheering loudly the whole comic. It is not easy to convert FiM into a magical girl story, and this one delivers so well I wanna applaud the artist.
 
If I was writing this I’m sure at some point it would start sounding like nonsense. So far, this is completely in line with magical girl traditions, and a pretty good story & comic too.

This is getting pretty good.
 
Water as Pinkie´s element makes a lot of sense, it can take any shape and be used in lots of ways, fitting her randomness.
 
If the others control elements too then:  
RD- Air  
AJ - Earth  
FS - Nature/Plants/healing powers  
RY - Gems/Fire  
Or something like that.

I’ve read their voices in a Megaman ZX style and I was also reminded of the time I watched all the story cutscenes of .Hack//Link on youtube. While watching these videoes, the story cutscenes sometimes switches into a big black screen that pretty much says “And then they went into a huge battle and this is what happends afterwards.” In this story especially the part where Luna and Celestia fought each other I thought of “the player” suddenly controlling Luna in this fight because she has to win this fight to notice something’s wrong with Celestia when that explanation “And then they fought” stuff happened.

i have a theory about the Applejack of this comic, she is a very cold stoic but i bet that when she activates her magic girl thing her personality changes into her canon one but only while she is in magic mode.
