Living right next to Ponyville, Kinyume has seen quite a few Sonic Rainbooms in her life. Rainbow Dash usually practises a bit away from town, so that the shockwave doesn’t hurt anyone, but considering that it is large enough to be visible from Canterlot, Kinyume still felt the thunderous sound vibrate in her chest as the wave passed her. No matter how often she’d seen it, everytime she noticed that Rainbow Dash was climbing very high during her pracise, she still dropped everything and rushed to get a good view, just in case. Even as an adult, it still takes her breath away.
 

 
I wanted to try a slightly different way of drawing foals, and I wanted an excuse to draw Kinyume being really happy over something, since she’s usually not very expressive as an adult, so here we are. I tried to change the body shape into being more true to actual foals, with longer spindly legs, rather than short chubby ones. They look good in the show, but I find them really awkward to try and translate into my style. Personally I kind of like this version better, but I’ll see what I’ll choose to do in the future. Probably switch back and fourth between the designs with no explanation as to why
