Personality
 
Daughter of Princess Celestia and Discord, Demeter is a draconequus with magical power rivaling her father’s. Her talents revolve around nature magic and primarily involve growing magic and cultivating plant life. Demeter is sweet and generally well-mannered but enjoys creating a bit of chaos every now and again (growing magic, often temperamental and unpredictable, is chaotic in and of itself). She’s aware that ponies tend to assume she is sweet and naïve and takes great pleasure in surprising them with something that reveals she’s far less innocent than they may have been led to believe. Demeter struggles with allowing the royal façade to drop and allow ponies to know her and become friends with her; in an attempt to rectify this, Celestia sent her to Ponyville to learn a little more about friendship and learn to socialize with ponies who aren’t pompous nobles.
 
Relationships
 
Demeter is close with both of her parents and has a better relationship with them than her brother Dionysus; she’s mild-mannered and even-tempered and doesn’t cause very much trouble with them. She takes more after Celestia in terms of her demeanor and has her mother’s skill for masking her emotions (although both Celestia and Rose can see past the disguise, having become adept at reading Demeter’s facial expressions).
 
Demeter is close friends with Rose and has a bit of a crush on her, although she’s a lot better at acting suave and masking her emotions than Rose is. Rose was one of the first friends Demeter made when she first moved to Ponyville, and she loves spending time with her in the bakery – partly to sneak samples of the newest treats and partly to make sure that Rose is actually eating and taking care of herself.
 
Extras
 
Demeter has skills revolving around caring for plant life, but she has more trouble dealing with animals. She’s currently studying under Fluttershy to learn more about it (and, Celestia hopes, make a few friends in Ponyville).
 
Demeter inherited her mother’s sweet tooth; despite this, she’s still as slender and svelte as her mother. Discord suspects there may be some sort of magic involved.
