That depends on how old Twilight was when she hatched him and how old she is at the start of the series. Hence the trouble with it being so ambiguous. The Mane 6 are usually thought of as being somewhere in their twenties (at least if they were human), and Twilight was notably younger than the CMC when she hatched Spike. Spike could easily have been anywhere from ten to sixtweenty at the start of the series, just to throw some numbers out.
