RD thing seems to be a lot of things. Optimal speed, but enough power in her body to demolish and blow up a house with sheer cannonball force without a scratch, outright win at hoof wresting with AJ and toss a large rock significantly far just for fun (albeit not as far as Maud’s throw).
 
So even though Maud and maybe Pinkie could win against her after RD got progressively more stronger and faster via training, it wouldn’t be by a wide margin.

Considering that Rainbow’s thing is speed, not strength, this doesn’t really surprise me.

Yeah, a rock farm that she hasn’t lived on for years. And she’s spent those years throwing and attending parties, and being constantly surrounded by baked goods. So naturally she hasn’t put on any weight or lost any muscle.  
Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash is a professional athlete who has spent her entire life preparing to become such. So obviously she’s a total weakling.

Hmmm, yet she didn’t move the rock her sister Maud cracked with ease in her debut ep.
